The Multi Engine Piston (MEP) rating is designed to allow you to fly as a Pilot in Command of twin-engined aircraft. You will learn specific techniques required to fly these types of aircraft like asymmetric flight, flying with one engine inoperative and engine failure.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Valid PPL(A) or higher licence
- At least 70 flight hours as Pilot-in-Command
- Valid 2nd class medical check or higher
Theoretical Knowledge
7 hours of classroom instruction of the following subjects:
- Aircraft Systems
- Limitations
- Performance, flight planning and monitoring
- Load, balance and servicing
- Emergency procedures
Practical Training
6 hours (plus skill test) of flight training which comprises:
- 3 hours of simulator training on FNPTII MEP
- 3 hours of flight training on MEP aircraft
- or: 6 total hours in flight training on MEP aircraft
- 1 hour of flight on the aircraft as practical exam (skill test)
